Gianfranco Frattini was born in Padoue in Italy in 1926 and died in Milan in 2004. It is a famous Italian designer and architect.

In 1953, He has a diploma from Politecnico di Milano. The Italian Gio Ponti becomes his mentor. Then, he creates its own company in Milan.

Gianfranco Frattini collabores with recognized brands like Bernini, Acerbis, Fantoni, Artemide, Luci, Knoll, Lema, …
Then, he becomes the co-founder of « Associazone per il Disegno Industriale » in 1956. And, he was a member of the Triennale council. He works mainly for interior architecture and objects, like the Boalum famous lamp, designed with Livio Castiglioni for the Artemide brand in 1970.

He also creates a partnership with Bovisio Masciago and Pierluigi Ghianda to draw wood designs.
The Italian designer won many prizes whose the Compasso of Oro.
