Giuseppe Ostuni was a passionate self-taught designer. Creator of the publishing house Oluce in 1945, he is an emblematic figure of Italian design in the 50s. The Oluce house will publish many models that he designed.

In 1949, he designed the "Ochetta" lamp, which appealed to the public thanks to its aesthetics and technique. For almost 30 years at Oluce, Giuseppe Ostuni worked with many renowned designers such as Tito Agnoli, Marco Zanuso and Joe Colombo, who made the success of Oluce with the gold medal at the Triennale of Milan in 1962 for the lamp "Acrylica".

Giuseppe Ostuni likes to work with metal and reveal its qualities, especially its ability to reflect light. All of his lamps have the same brass structure and a colored lacquered metal shade. Recognizable by their telescope shape, Giuseppe Ostuni's lamps are composed of curved rods and adjustable heights that allow them to be functional.
