Designer

Born in 1925 in the Hautes-Alpes, Joseph-André Motte started his studies in the Ecole des Arts Appliqués à l’industrie in Paris where he became valedictorian.

Its creativity pushed him to review some traditional materials such as rattan.

After the opening of his own agency, Joseph-André Motte has been mandated to design the most major French airports and more than one hundred metro stations.

Promoted to the rank of Commander of Art and Letters, he acquired nearly all the rewards of his day.

His sober, elegant and rigorous design makes him an emblematic French designer of the 20th century.

He conceived 2 sets of mythic lights for Les Ateliers Disderot in which his worry of detail and functionality stands out.
