Birthdate
1985
Nationality
Danish
Occupation
Designer

Belonging to the new generation of Danish designers, Mads Saetter-Lassen finished his design studies in 2013. A graduate of the prestigious design school at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, Sætter-Lassen also studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and the Pratt Institute in New York. After completing a series of personal studies of the different fields of design, Sætter-Lassen created his own studio (Krøyer-Sætter-Lassen) and then associated with the famous brand Northern Lighting. This designer has a unique approach mixing design elements with the principles of cabinetmaking and metalworking. Advocate of democratic design, Sætter-Lassen focuses on simplicity and functionality, preferring to highlight the beauty and integrity of materials rather than beautify the products unnecessarily. The Buddy lamp is the outstanding example of his approach; this functional and stylish lamp was his first design.
