Nationality
Italian
Occupation
lighting designer and studio

Marco Dessì, creator of the Cima pendant lamp presented by Lodes, is a designer and design studio. In 2008, he set up his own multidisciplinary design studio, which he named Studio Dessì.

A free and open spirit, he emphasizes practical, collaborative and interactive production processes. He includes his customers in the manufacturing process. He juggles between artisanal and industrial production, according to the requests he receives.

A talented designer who knows how to respond to a wide range of needs, Marco Dessì works for customers in a variety of sectors. He contributes to the creation of furniture elements ranging from lighting fixtures to chairs and sofas.

For Marco Dessì, the purpose is of little importance. What matters most is understanding the materials used and the object created, and the story it is intended to convey. His creations are all about providing spatial solutions, filling a gap. The Cima creation is a good illustration of this, featuring a directional spotlight that slides along a rope in reference to the ends of ships. This is also reflected in the model's title, "Cima", which means "end" in Italian.
