Mario Cucinella is an Italian architect and designer born in Palermo in 1960. He is renowned for his commitment to sustainable and ecological architecture, integrating environmental and social approaches into his projects.

He studied architecture at the University of Genoa, where he worked with Giancarlo De Carlo. From 1987 to 1992, he worked for the renowned Renzo Piano Building Workshop studio in Genoa and Paris. In 1992, he founded Mario Cucinella Architects (MCA) in Paris, now based in Bologna, Milan and New York.

In 2015, he founded the School of Sustainability (SOS) in Bologna, a training center focused on sustainable architecture. His work has received international recognition, including honorary fellowships from RIBA and AIA.

His practice is characterized by a strong integration of sustainability, innovative technologies and social impact in the buildings and spaces he designs.
