Odile Decq is a French architect and urbanist. Graduated in 1978, she set up her own studio while she studying Urban Planning at Science Politiques Paris.
International renown came quickly. Indeed, she received several awards such as the Golden Lion in Venise (1996), the Nycxdesign Award 2017 for her pendant light Soleil Noir or the Blueprint Award (2015). Her projects are directly born from the punk rebellion: the MACRO (Museum for Contemporary Art in Rome) in 2010, the famous restaurant Opéra Garnier in Paris in 2011 and the FRAC (Museum of Contemporary Art in Rennes) in 2012.
Odile Decq’s creation have a paradoxical look. Being both tender and severe, she is questioning the use, the matter, the body, the technique and the taste. She is today faithful to her fight by diversifying and radicalizing her research.
