Pierre Charpin is a designer and visual artist working in Ivry-sur-Seine and living in Paris (France).
Born in 1962, Pierre Charpin trained at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Bourges, where he graduated in 1984. Since the 1990s, his work has been devoted to the design of furniture and objects. His approach to design is strongly influenced by his artistic training, which can be seen in his limited-edition and industrial products. The use of a simple vocabulary of elementary forms is a constant in his creations; drawing, which he practices as a starting point for his creations, is also an essential element of his creative process.
Named Designer of the Year 2017 at Maison & Objet, his designs can be found in various exhibitions and museums.
He collaborates with brands such as Alessi, Ligne Roset and Hay, for whom he designed the PC collection.
