Raphaël Armand was born and lives in Lyon, France. He is a specialist in Art-Deco lighting fixtures from the 1930s.
His creations respect the spirit of avant-garde architects from artistic movements such as Art and craft, Futurism, Bauhaus, Cubism, de Stijl, Suprematism, Constructivism and Art Deco. He offers a range of chandeliers, ceiling lights, pendant lights, wall lights and light structures that meet specific characteristics.
His mission is to re-establish the unavoidable link between the geometry of architecture and that of light.
He thus revives the tradition of metalworkers and lighting technicians of the interwar period while adapting it to the standards of the 21st century and to current demands.
Raphaël Armand, archaeologist of light: "He has just finished the realization of the chandeliers and wall lamps of the Villa Cavrois, the work of the architect Robert Mallet-Stevens in Croix near Lille. The result is astonishing, all the lighting has been reconstituted identically, but this time according to 21st century standards, and the visit takes us back to 1932. Officially inaugurated on June 13, the Villa Cavrois will be open for public visits from that date."
Today, he is the holder of honorable distinctions: silver medal designer light by the Building Award of the Academy of Architecture 2017 or the Golden Gesture 2019, a reward for outstanding restorations.
