Sandro Santantonio was born in Lecce in 1977, where he studied at the Lyceum school of experimental art. He then moved to Milan and entered the Brera Academy, where he graduated in 2000 with top marks. During his studies, he began working with renowned designers and took part in national and international exhibitions.
In 2004, he founded Sandro Santantonio Design, which presents itself as a field of work and study dedicated to the new ideology of design. The studio's ability to bring together multiple skills under a single umbrella has enabled them to considerably expand their customer portfolio and professional experience, collaborating with leading companies in the fields of furniture, lighting, interior design and fashion accessories.
Parallel to its birth, Studio Sandro Santantonio Design acquired a partner, Andrea Cantù, who supports Sandro Santantonio in all decision-making, in addition to looking after the communications division.
Studio Sandro Santantonio Design today works in the fields of architecture, interior and industrial design, graphic design, packaging and fashion design, with a particular focus on trend research, the study of innovative materials and new technologies in the contract, fashion and lighting industries. From product design to domestic or contract interiors, from trade shows to exhibitions and events, these are all subjects developed by the Studio thanks to the diverse experience and skills of the professionals who make it up.
Studio Sandro Santantonio Design has won several awards, such as the Young&Design 2004 special mention for the Flower chair, two Young&Design 2005 special mentions for the Dune sofa line and the Zoe lamp collection, the Young&Design 2006 special mention for the Wave table and first prize in the Abitare il Mare 2006 naval competition announced at Seatec-Carrara Fiere, thanks to the project for a luxury cabin for cruise ships. They also won the special prize "for the project that best individualized innovative solutions in a logic of maximum simplicity" Young&Design 2007 for their Trinity lamp collection, which in 2009 received a mention at the Compasso d'Oro.
