Design duo Soren Blomaard and Anne-Lise Heydra join forces to create their own studio, Atelier Robotiq.
Based in Rotterdam, the duo use innovative new processes to develop unique lighting fixtures.
Their different approach to design lies in the diverse combination of knowledge and backgrounds, combining aerospace engineering, product design, fine art and robotics.
This unique combination results in unexpected and exciting products, the first of which are the fiber-patterned lamps. A series of lights are made by weaving fibers into geometric patterns using an industrial robot.
They chose to build and program their own second-hand industrial robot (a former welding robot from the automotive industry), enabling them to manufacture all the models themselves in their workshop in downtown Rotterdam.
