AATISMO is an innovative design studio based in Tokyo, founded with the aim of exploring the relationship between man, nature and everyday objects. The studio's unique approach blends art, technology and ancestral traditions, creating works that are both poetic and functional. The studio's name evokes a quest for balance between the spiritual and the material, between natural forces and human innovation.
The AATISMO studio is made up of three principal designers: Keita Ebidzuka, Daiki Nakamori and Eriko Masunaga. Keita Ebidzuka is an architect and designer, bringing a structural and spatial vision to the studio's projects, with a particular focus on primitive forms and natural materials. Daiki Nakamori, industrial designer, specializes in the creation of functional objects that reinterpret everyday tools in an artistic way, such as the "OOPARTS-001" aluminum package opener. Eriko Masunaga, also an architect, completes the team with a focus on harmony between spaces and objects, seeking to integrate natural elements to offer immersive sensory experiences.
Their major works include "Aether", a light installation combining borosilicate glass and Japanese organza, diffusing a soft, enveloping light, as well as the "Elements of Light" series, presented at SaloneSatellite 2022, which pays homage to ancient rituals of veneration of natural elements. The studio is also behind functional creations such as "OOPARTS-001", a utilitarian object transformed into an aesthetic artifact.
AATISMO's philosophy is to create timeless objects that reconnect people with their environment. The studio draws inspiration from the fundamental elements - light, air, earth - to produce works that transcend ephemeral fashions and abolish the boundaries between functional design and conceptual art.
Internationally recognized, the studio has participated in prestigious events such as Milan's SaloneSatellite and collaborated with renowned brands such as Giorgetti. Their creations embody a new vision of contemporary design, celebrating the beauty of natural elements while incorporating modern innovations.
