DARK was founded in 2000 by Marnick Smessaert.
Dark is a project driven by passion, a passion for design, innovation and lighting. And it's a passion that has paid off.
The projects of this artistic brand are always characterized by a kind of experimental rebellion. Dark likes to play with bright colors, often creating stunning effects.
Dark's projects strongly resemble art. Yet this special brand never loses sight of the functionality of its lamps. Well-known models include the pretty Spacewalker and the unique Apollo.
DARK products are sold in over 43 countries and DARK has won 81 international design awards to date. DARK works with numerous external partners, designers from Belgium and abroad. Their offices and production are based in Belgium.
DARK is an incubator of creative ideas that have given rise to original luminaires, chandeliers, sculptures and lighting concepts. DARK is all about experimentation. Combining colors, incorporating precious materials, adding elegant details and focusing on pure forms.
