Andrea Trimarchi (1983, Italy) and Simone Farresin (1980, Italy) form the designer duo behind Formafantasma (“Ghost shape”), a design studio based in Amsterdam (Netherlands).

Their interest in product design developed during the Master which they followed at the Design Academy in Eindhoven, where they graduated in 2009. Since then, Formafantasma has designed a portfolio defined by experimental research on materials and explored issues such as the relationship between traditional and local cultures, a critical approach to sustainable development and the importance of objects as cultural vectors.

By perceiving their role as a bridge between craft, industry, object, and user, Formafantasma wishes to forge links between their research-based practice and a wider design industry. The studio collaborates with a variety of partners, such as Fendi, Lexus, Hermès, Droog, Established and Sons and Flos.

Among other things, they designed the Wireline collection for Flos in 2021.
