Design couturier Tristan Auer refers to Melanocetus as "The lamp [he's] always dreamed of making."
This design published by Italian house Contardi defies the laws of gravity.

Melanocetus double is an unusual ceiling lamp with satin-gold finishes. Its pure, balanced lines are elegant, refined and essential. Four spotlights stand at the ends of two slender ceiling poles. A structure that lends an air of fragile, precious balance. Melanocetus features both direct and indirect lighting. In fact, two of the four spotlights shine towards the ceiling to create a more general background light, while the other two spotlights diffuse a more focused, direct light. The two direct-lighting spotlights can be tilted 60° and 350° to either side.
The two poles, meanwhile, can be tilted 150° to either side.

The Melanocetus ceiling light is available in two finishes, matte black and satin gold. You'll also find it in a simple version, with a pole and 2 spotlights.

The ceiling light measures 170cm in diameter and 65.6cm in height.

The dimmable fixture is supplied with four GU10 LED bulbs.
