In 1955, Finnish design icon Ilmari Tapiovaara created his one and only domestic lamp: the Maija suspension lamp, published by Santa & Cole.

Inspired by the light of Baltic cities, where streets are dimly lit and light emanates mainly from the windows of houses and shops, the Maija captures this unique ambience. Its honeycomb structure of stacked metal discs filters a warm, diffused light through a white glass diffuser inside. This lamp is a tribute to the modernist era and Tapiovaara's ingenuity.

To integrate the Maija suspension into your interior, consider placing it above your dining table or in a reading corner of your living room. Its timeless, sleek design blends perfectly with contemporary or Scandinavian interiors.
