The Enigma 545 was designed by Japanese designer Shoichi Uchiyama in 2007 to complement the Enigma family.

The Enigma 545 is a version based on the idea of floating lampshades held by very thin wires, expressing both transparency and lightness.

The name "enigma" refers to the fact that lampshades seem to glide when seen from afar, lit. The concept is completely in line with Louis Poulsen's product philosophy and is presented as a reinterpretation of the lampshade set: Japanese grace combined with Scandinavian simplicity.

In 2018, the original aluminium version was completed with a black edition, expanding the decorative possibilities of the design and creating a serene visual and atmospheric effect, as it shapes and channels light.

The luminaire emits a soft and muffled light, directed downwards and non-dazzling. The shape of the shade ensures uniform illumination of the surface. The matt upper surface diffuses light, while the shiny lower surface ensures optimal reflection.
