Lumiere Grande is a table lamp designed by Rodolfo Dordoni for Italian brand Foscarini in 1990.

The lamp Lumiere Grande 30th is composed of a metallic tripoded base, on which is installed a diffuser in handblown glass. Icon of design, Lumiere celebrates its 30th anniversary with a new elegance: champagne coloured base, white shade with either “bulles” or “pastilles” pattern. Perfect balance between glass and metal, tradition and innovation, decoration and technique, hot and cold, Lumiere keeps making its mark in the History of design. Lumiere Grande casts a direct, warm and intense light. Switched off, it expresses refined elegance: switched on, every detail of the diffuser is enhanced by the light. Lumiere Grande 30th is perfect for every occasion, whether it is as a bedside table lamp in a home or in the décor of a grand hotel.

The base is made of die cast aluminium hand finished and polished and liquid coated. Each foot has a scratch-preventing silicone pad. The diffuser is in cased glass with glossy finish: for the “bulles” pattern, the glass is blown in a mould fitted with spikes, the result is a myriad little air bubbles which remain trapped between the layers of glass; for the “pastilles” pattern, the hand-blowing of the incandescence vitreous paste is done inside a dedicated diamond-shaped mould, giving the glass its classic multi-faceted appearance referred to as “balloton”. A switch, ON/OFF or with dimmer, is installed on a transparent cable.
