Tasked with turning this apartment into a pied-à-terre for a couple of artists, we imagined a project of extreme fluidity, an obvious, free and functional living space, with simple uses: the living room in the center and the two bedrooms on either side, each benefiting from storage and its own bathroom. Furniture and decor were carefully selected, reflecting both our appetite for beautiful objects and our desire to keep the space as uncluttered as possible, in the style of Japanese interiors. It was also essential to achieve a form of harmony between expressive materials and a pared-down atmosphere.

The large ash storage unit cleverly hides the entrance door and toilet access, keeping them at a distance. Our desire for softness is also reflected in the choice of curved and counter-curved shapes, whether it's the rounded floor that delimits the kitchen area, the oblong island and its totemic base, or the curved doors to the two bedrooms. The poppy hue of the kitchen and the graphic pendant lights above the island punctuate and enliven the living space.

On one side, the pink bedroom's headboard has been topped with raised earthenware, adding depth. Closets in woven raffia delineate the bathroom, revealing a vanity unit in rosa perlino marble clad in raw terracotta. On the other side, the green bedroom is organized around a rounded shower covered in khaki green zelliges, into which a slender ash desk is set. We cleverly played with the chimney flue to create niches, both open and closed, and unroll a beige ribbon from the bedroom to the shower room. The bathroom combines a rough tomette floor with a refined travertine vanity top.
