The Foscarini house is one of the great Italian designer lighting houses.
Two words perfectly express Foscarini's vision. "Fare" & "Luce". These terms are the essence of Foscarini. Two envelopes which enclose two apparently separate worlds, but which come together in the product: the world of fare (of "doing"), where we shape matter; and the world of luce (of "light"), that is to say of vision and thought.
The Foscarini house was created in 1981 on the island of Murano and in 1983 the first collection was released and distributed outside of Italy.
In 1985 the publishing house called on desginers for the first time. In 1988 Carlo Urbinati and Alessandro Vecchiato bought Foscarini where they had started as designers a few years earlier.

Then the development of new materials and successes multiply. Among others, the caboche lamps by Patricia Urquiola, the Twiggy by Marc Sadler ....

Foscarini is a world reference in terms of decorative lighting, and several models are already part of the icons of design.

"Foscarini imagines, develops and produces decorative lamps: day and night, they seduce when they are on, and surprise when they are off."
