Country
Denmark

LYFA was founded in 1903 and was originally called Kjøbenhavns Lampe- og Lysekronefabrik (Copenhagen Lamp and Chandelier Factory) with KLLF as the short form.

In the early 1930s, the company changed its name to LYFA. The LY for "Lysekrone" and the FA for "-fabrik" pay tribute to the company's origin and beginnings. Since 1903, one of LYFA's founding principles has been to create lighting designs for all occasions and to be the light in everyday life ("Lyspunkter i tilværelsen").
Throughout LYFA's existence, the whole company has revolved around the concept of designing good light in all its facets and forms. Today we call it "Lightscapes", but the aim and the fundamental concepts remain the same. LYFA creates and explores lighting concepts that build on decades of proud Danish design traditions.

The brand is known for its great expertise and wide range of lighting categories, as evidenced by its catalogue. LYFA masters decorative and industrial lighting, both large and small scale, as well as indoor and outdoor lighting.
