Designer

Italian designer Francesca Smiraglia works in Milan and southern Italy. Born in 1983, she graduated in 2008 from the Politecnico di Milano with a degree in industrial design, specializing in product and lighting design.
She is always looking for ways to improve her knowledge and develop new methodologies of "design thinking". Her training starts with the development of furniture products and lighting fixtures, then she focuses her work on lighting design to achieve a greater awareness of light.
She currently works as a lighting designer, primarily for interior design, retail and hospitality. She imagines products that explore the conceptual and anthropological sphere, the relationship between man and the environment. She emphasizes the interaction between the formal aesthetics of products and their functionality.
She is notably at the origin of the Dala collection, specially designed from mineral materials that she proposed to the Italian company KDLN.
