Mariona Raventós and Jordi Miralbell formed a design partnership rooted in craftsmanship, beginning their journey after training at Barcelona's ELISAVA school between 1974 and 1977. Together, they built a catalog of beautiful furniture and lighting for the home. Their joint adventure began with the establishment of their own interior design and graphics studio in Barcelona, two years after their studies. Their professional portfolio soon expanded to include projects in diverse artistic fields such as film, advertising and theater.
In 1986, they founded their own production company, Neoseries, keeping their love of craftsmanship intact. Their first iconic creation, the Arco lamp, already incorporated a hand-painted parchment shade by Mariona, a style they continued to develop in their next collection, "Atmósfera". Their approach to design, in perfect harmony with their love of craftsmanship, led their company to join Santa & Cole in 1989, a publishing company for which they had already made furniture. Becoming partners two years later, they also took charge of artistic direction and contributed to product selection criteria and discussions.
As part of their team, Mariona Raventós excels in craftsmanship, carefully treating materials, textures and colors to bring a sensual dimension to their projects. Jordi Miralbell, meanwhile, contributes his expertise in volume, proportion and mechanics, ensuring that their creations are both warm and simple, cohabiting harmoniously with a variety of furniture styles. Their lamps, never garish, explore a dynamic notion of light, using natural materials, poetic forms and a variety of lighting techniques.
