Birthdate
1956
Nationality
italian
Occupation
architect, designer

Supporter of minimalism, it is through the clean lines of his products that we recognize Piero Lissoni.

Born in 1956, in Italy, he began studying architecture at the Polytechnic School of Milan. Shortly after graduating, he became artistic director of the Italian brand Boffi and revealed all his talent for minimalist functionality by creating the XILA kitchen.

In 1986, accompanied by Nicoletta Canesi, he founded his own agency to respond to architecture, design, decoration and graphic design projects. Then 10 years later, he launched Graph X, a communication agency with which he will support major Italian brands such as Cappellini.

Sobriety and elegance, this is what characterizes his creations. Reflecting his interest in people, he imagines products that improve everyday life by providing them with an aesthetic line so that the useful is also pleasing to the eye.
As a child, he already understood that simplicity and efficiency can go hand in hand and that the functionality of a product does not depend on the number of parts that make it up.

He draws his inspiration from different styles that they combine in simple and functional forms. Influenced by other Italian designers such as Achille Castiglioni or by artists such as Claudio Abbado, his work will first begin on furniture before extending to lighting, notably through his collaboration with Maison Flos.
