The 1972 Extra Large suspension lamp, designed by the legendary Paavo Tynell for the Gubi brand, is a timeless gem from the 1972 collection, originally from Denmark.

Made from bamboo, this suspension embodies the traditional craftsmanship and elegant design for which Tynell is renowned.

Aesthetically, the 1972 Large suspension features a conical bamboo shade, meticulously woven by expert craftsmen. The bamboo strips are hand-sewn into a pleated mat, creating a subtle, warm play of light. Tynell's characteristic brass details add a touch of timelessness to the ensemble, perfectly complementing the warm tone of the wood and light. Its fabric diffuser modulates light softly and evenly, while a decorative brass detail under the bulb adds character to each lamp.

On the technical side, the 1972 Large suspension is equipped with a 3.8-meter-long beige cable, offering great installation flexibility. Its 360-degree diffused lighting creates a warm, welcoming ambience in any room, directed downwards and also diffusing upwards through the bamboo slats.
