Pendant light, Semi 30, black, H15cm, Ø30cm - GUBI

The Gubi’s lighting house relaunches the Semi pendant light, by Claus Bonderup and Torsten Thorup.

In 1968, both designers, students in Architect school, draws and produces this pendant light to react against the « cosy area », dominating in Denmark.

This elegant and pure lighting has thin finishes, Its geometric form is based on two quarter-circles put together, back-to-back such as a tulip shape.

The lampshade in mat black lacquered aluminium offers an amazing conic lighting, perfect for your living-room or your kitchen !


This unique and timeless pendant light was famous in the 80’s. It was the best-selling design, gaining worldwide recognization.

Thanks to their creation, Claus Bonderup and Torsten Thorup won the first price of a competition at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School of Architecture.

Composed of enamelled metal, its diameter is 30 cm.

Semi is supplied with 1 silver crown reflector bulb. The bulb of 40W has an E14 socket.

Also available in 47cm and 60cm diameter and 7 others colors.
