JOSEPH - BC ATELIERS
The 70 m² living room, which is also BC Ateliers' office-showroom, is bathed in light from the 3rd floor. Designed around the fireplace, it features built-in or wall-mounted storage units to free up as much space as possible. On the kitchen side, a large central island forms the focal point of this room. Adapted to the room's proportions, its softened shapes welcome meals and festivities, as well as work and discussion sessions.
On the opposite side of the living room, the load-bearing wall and arch-shaped swinging wooden doors mark the transition to the night rooms. Shapes that also resonate with the curves of certain iconic design pieces, in the image of the Fifties universe we're particularly fond of.
A low-ceilinged corridor announces a more intimate ambience. A bathroom, a children's bedroom, a master bedroom with dressing room and an individual studio are organized in this area. The bedrooms have been designed to offer maximum volume and light, and to highlight the French ceilings.
Along with ceramics, wood is one of the main materials used in the project: parquet flooring, French ceilings and custom oak cleats. They dress and structure the room, while recalling the signature of an era. They also contrast with the curves of the apartment and bring balance to the design.
The entire apartment is softened by soft, natural hues. To highlight these warm shades, a deep blue highlights the bedroom headboard and bathroom tiles.
The cane pattern graphics for the bathroom and WC tiles recall the living room sideboard and are in keeping with the times. The same is true of the graphics on the Pierre Frey headboard and the wallpaper in the La Chance studio. All this is underlined by retro, designer lighting, such as the sconces by Gong Design.
The result: an elegant, warm apartment that expresses an art of living in which the spirit of the place is reflected in a subtle blend of nuances and eras.
