German
Occupation
Designer

Born in Munich in 1965, Konstantin Grcic doesn’t just claim a minimalist style. He breaks down the superfluous and simply takes the best out of it. According to him design doesn’t have a moral end, he just wants to create an intimate and physical experience.

He likes the relationship between modern and old. He likes to create time passages between his creations and designs from another time. The lines of his designs and true and undertaken, even bold sometimes. But the designer draw with humility objects, which can sometimes outreach him. Nothing makes him happier than finding out that people are using his objects in a way that he never thought of.

Helped by his mentors, the British Jasper Morrison and the Italian Vico Magistretti, he definitely has his own style now and he renown all around the world. He won in 2001 the Golden compas price for his today cult May Day lamp and was named designer of the year of the Now! Design Salon in 2007.
