Maru's hidden secret is the kaleidoscopic pattern of light it casts upwards. The toroidal shape is inspired by diatoms, the basis of the entire oceanic food chain. The name Maru is found in both the Maori and Japanese languages of New Zealand, referring to the cycle of life. Maru is an atypical and original lighting sculpture powered by six internal Lumiled LEDs, which project light upwards in overlapping patterns. Maru can complement other light sources and also provide a "wow!" effect, in a dimly lit environment such as a bar, lounge or restaurant.
CNC-cut pieces of bamboo plywood create a fluid, openwork, airy structure. The effect of the play of shadows on the surrounding walls and ceiling is Maru's hidden quality.
Maru is suitable for both commercial and residential ceiling lighting. Ideal for hotel lobby design, hospitality lighting or restaurant lighting - this oversized pendant luminaire makes a statement in any space.
Available in a range of sizes and finishes. When assembled, the color can be installed indoors or outdoors.
The Maru 140 suspension measures 140cm in diameter and 25cm in height. The integrated 11W LED ribbon emits 2700K (warm white). Has three 5m nylon cables. Delivered flat-packed in an eco-friendly cardboard box and in kit form to reduce the carbon footprint during transport. Features sustainably sourced bamboo wood and nylon rivets. Driver included.
