Mayday is a portable lamp with IP65 designed in 1999 by German designer Konstantin Grcic for Flos.

The portable lamp Mayday is composed of a conic diffusor, attached to a handle with a hook and a wind-up cord, that can be wrapped around this said hook. Initially, Konstantin Grcic created this lamp for himself, he wanted a lamp whose form would perfectly follow its function, a sort of tool lamp. And this is where its beauty resides, a simple look and one understands the function. Its name comes from a famous rave music festival, happening on the first day of May, a day full of sunshine, luminosity, and positivity; it also echoes the emergency call. Mayday is a versatile and avant-garde lamp, a portable lamp before the wireless technology was as developed as it is nowadays. Mayday is a lamp with no destination, that is to say with an infinity of destinations: it can be hung on a bed frame, above a kitchen table, it can be used as a lamp torch to look for some lost object under a coach, or to shine a workspace, whether it be a drawing board or the inside of a car.

The light source is not included (bulb E27 max 15W).
