Charles-Edouard Jeanneret, known as Le Corbusier, was a leading figure in the modern architectural movement.

Among his notable works is the Cité Radieuse in Marseille, which he designed between 1945 and 1952. This building, resembling a “vertical village,” is now designated a historic monument.

It was for this complex that Le Corbusier designed the Marseille lamp collection. In 1954, he conceived the Marseille lamp for all of these apartments. Always striving for excellence, he developed lighting fixtures that optimized illumination while combining performance and avant-garde design. Its unique design adorns the walls of a living room, an office, a hallway, or a bedroom.

These light fixtures are now produced by Nemo Lighting for the general public! A functional object that is both retro and modern, made of aluminum. Inspired by 1950s industrial lighting, the Marseille lamp features a shade composed of two cones of different sizes. The first, with a diameter of 50 cm, is positioned beneath the second, which measures 17 cm in diameter. The lamp’s asymmetrical cones are each equipped with an independent light source to create direct or indirect lighting as desired. The entire arm is adjustable. The adjustable shade can be rotated 340°.

The total length of the wall lamp is 166 cm, with a height of 80 cm. Light bulbs are not included with the fixture. We recommend a 70W E27 LED bulb with a diameter of 11 cm for the lower shade (Ø50 cm) and a 70W A60 bulb for the upper shade (Ø17 cm). The switch is installed on the 2.8-meter cable, which is equipped with a plug. The Marseille wall lamp is available in various colors: white, gray, and black (new for 2018!). A mini version is also available on our website.
